Film Posters

The Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel is home to a remarkable collection of original movie posters created by leading Czechoslovak artists between 1960 and 1989. These hand-crafted posters were made without computers and stand apart from typical commercial film posters. They were designed by prominent local artists who, during that era, often couldn’t sell or exhibit their personal work and
instead made a living through applied arts.

Terry's Socks Posters

The posters on display come from Terry Posters—known in Czech as Terryho ponožky—the largest private poster collection in the country. The visual identity and typography of the hotel’s installation were designed by the acclaimed Czech design firm Studio Najbrt. You’ll find the exhibition in the C-Suite Boardrooms and throughout the hotel rooms.

You are now the poud owner of an original film poster from the Terry Posters collection. This is the original offset print from the year the film was released in Czech cinemas. The Terry Posters collection and shop were launched in 2004 by legendary American director Terry Gilliam, after whom
the collection is named. As a playful gesture, he even left behind one of his own socks.
