The Expo 58 exhibition in Brussels marked a major breakthrough for the then thirty year old sculptor Josef Klimeš.
His iron sculpture from the entrance hall of the Czechoslovak pavilion received the highest award, the Grand Prix. Klimeš, however, works with all materials – from plaster to copper sheet.

The monumental four-sided sculptural wall, almost four metres long and three metres high, dating from the 1970s, is returning to the hotel lobby after restoration, now in the central position of the gallery to enhance its spatial effect.
