Sustainability
The goal of Fairmont Golden Prague hotel is to show that it is possible to combine innovative technology, environmental responsibility and luxury hospitality. The hotel is not only an inspiration for its guests, but also an important example for other players in the hotel industry.
WATER AS A KEY RESOURCE
The hotel uses geothermal boreholes for heating and cooling via a heat pump, which represents: 97,7 % sustainable cooling, 46,9 % sustainable heating.
Grey water (treated wastewater) is recycled and used to flush toilets, minimising the consumption of potable water. The unique system provides heat recovery from hotel operations such as kitchens and air conditioning.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
The hotel is equipped with intelligent HVAC systems and lighting that automatically controls energy consumption based on current needs. The use of renewable energy sources enables a significant reduction in the carbon footprint: Annual energy audits monitor and optimise consumption. All hotel facilities meet the strict standards of Green Key certification.
BLUE-GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE
The hotel contributes to a greener urban environment through planting: new trees, park areas, green roofs that improve micro-climate and reduce overheating, vertical gardens.
AESTHETICS AND FUNCTIONALITY
Green roofs and vertical gardens introduce a pleasant environment for guests and passers-by. This infrastructure
improves air quality and promotes biodiversity in the urban centre.
